Hemp seed oil stands out through its unique fatty acid composition. It contains a high concentration of linoleic acid (omega-6) and alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3) in a ratio close to 3:1 — a balance considered optimal for the skin's barrier function. The oil also contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), a rare fatty acid with documented anti-inflammatory properties that is particularly effective against redness, irritation and atopic skin.

The oil is classified as a "dry oil" — it absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy layer on the skin, making it suitable even for products targeting combination and oily skin types. It is non-comedogenic and has natural antibacterial properties.

Virgin_Pure_1000 is a cold-pressed, unrefined hemp seed oil produced without chemical refining or solvents. The oil has a clear, light golden colour and a mild, nutty scent — significantly lighter and more neutral than many other hemp oils on the market, thanks to our patent-pending extraction process and the high quality of our Swedish raw material.

Fatty acid profile (typical values): linoleic acid (omega-6) approx. 55%, alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3) approx. 17%, oleic acid (omega-9) approx. 12%, gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) approx. 3–4%, palmitic acid approx. 6%, stearic acid approx. 2%.

Applications in Cosmetic Formulation

Hemp seed oil has broad application across cosmetic product categories. It functions as a base oil in facial serums and face oils, thanks to its light texture and rapid absorption. In creams and lotions it delivers deep nourishment without a heavy feel. Hand creams and body butters with hemp oil provide intensive moisturisation, making it particularly suitable for winter products and hard-working hands. In hair products it strengthens strands and adds shine. The oil also works as a base in massage oils and body scrubs.

Specific skincare areas where hemp seed oil shows particularly strong results include dry and sensitive skin (deep moisturisation without irritation), acne-prone skin (balances sebum production, non-comedogenic), mature skin (antioxidants supporting cell renewal) and redness and irritation (GLA's anti-inflammatory action).

Hemp Seed Oil vs CBD Oil — An Important Distinction

It is important to clarify the difference. Hemp seed oil (Virgin_Pure_1000) is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant and contains no cannabinoids — neither THC nor CBD. It is fully legal in all EU countries and is not subject to narcotics legislation. CBD oil is extracted from the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant and contains cannabidiol (CBD), which in many EU markets is classified as a novel food ingredient or pharmaceutical.

Virgin_Pure_1000 is a pure hemp seed oil with no CBD content — safe to use in all cosmetic products without regulatory complications.

Virgin_Pure_1000 is produced in our FSSC 22000 certified facility in Arlandastad, Sweden. EU Organic certification available. Full batch traceability from Swedish cultivation to finished oil. Every shipment includes a certificate of analysis with fatty acid profile, peroxide value, water activity and microbiological analysis.
